The passage is about the reasons why more and more females are interested in football which used to be a man's game. So, it might be possible to say that the main idea of the passage is,
"There are several reasons why more females are interested in football".
We also did some reference work and word-finding today.

Thanks for all the comments. I'm impressed! I never thought that I would become a football fan one day. Thanks to my wife, who is a hardcore Fenerbahce fan, I have become a FB fan, too. Yes, I have been watching football games since I got married. Lol! In fact, a couple of times, I have been to S.Saracoglu stadium to see some live action. It was wonderful to be there. Oh, one time I have been to Ali Sami Yen, but that was for a Metallica concert!
